About role:
The Controller oversees our client’s financial and accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. The role leads accounting, payroll, AP and AR functions, coordinates internal and external reporting, manages budgeting and tax planning, and supports strategic financial decisions. The Controller also improves accounting processes and metrics while building, developing, and retaining a strong accounting team to support the company’s financial health and growth.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field;
5+ years as a Controller or in a similar accounting management role;
QuickBooks experience and/or other accounting software;
Strong grasp of accounting principles, financial reporting and regulatory requirements;
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook);
English level: Fluent (US based client, daily written and verbal communication with executives);
Proven team leadership with a track record of developing and retaining talent;
Strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills;
Ability to explain complex financial information to non finance stakeholders;
Excellent written and verbal communication, clear and error free documentation;
Exercise tact and diplomacy, strong work ethic, sense of urgency and reliability
Ability to multitask, prioritize well under time, work volume pressure and make sound decisions.

Responsibilities:
Supervise daily accounting operations and make sure everything is accurate and compliant with accounting principles and company policies;
Lead the accounting, payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable teams;
Work with the executive team on financial insights that support strategic decisions;
Keep the CFO updated on financial status, performance and key issues;
Prepare accurate and timely internal and external financial statements;
Coordinate external auditors and make sure audit requirements are met;
Own the budget process: development, monitoring and analysis;
Assess current accounting operations and implement better processes;
Develop and track financial performance metrics;
Oversee regulatory reporting, including tax planning and compliance;
Hire, train and retain accounting staff.
Work conditions:
Reports to: CEO (with regular updates to the CFO)
Employment: Full time, exempt
Schedule: Mon to Fri, 8 AM to 5 PM (US Central), with 24/7 availability during busy periods
Travel: about 5% of the time (quarterly team and company meetings, including overnight stays)
Work environment: office, moderate noise level
